TiSUN and its partners give warmth
The early years in particular have a great impact on the life of a child. At its three centres, Casa do Caminho, to the north-west of Rio de Janeiro in Brazil, works every day to further its mission of protecting and educating children and adolescents and improving their social situation. 40 children aged between 4 and 18 years live in three houses with their foster carers. They learn to eat healthily and grow their own food, are schooled and given training, participate in sports, organise an annual cultural festival for the surrounding area, and receive medical care. Most of the children were given away because their families could not afford to raise them. Some of these orphans lived on the street, others were removed from their families due to alcohol, abuse or prostitution and are now finding a basis for a new start in life in this social framework.
Trust is also the basis that every child needs for a happy life. When a child’s social environment is severely disrupted, it takes a lot of time, patience and love to rebuild that foundation for a good start into the future. TiSUN is making this new start a little easier for the children of Casa do Caminho by donating a solar thermal set, including transport and installation. The generosity of its customers in again expecting no Christmas gifts from TiSUN this year has allowed to provide 40 children with free hot water over twenty years.
