Vertical polyester fibre fleece insulation for TiSUN tanks

From June, TiSUN will supply its tanks with a new type of patented fleece insulation and offer its customers a free product development.

The new type of patented polyester fibre fleece insulation differs from conventional types of insulation because its fibres run in an "upright" direction relative to the tank wall. Because it is made of multiple tapered segments, the fleece insulation fits the tank wall and sleeves perfectly, prevents flue leakage and guarantees dimensional stability.

For the Pro-Clean® solar stratified tank with spherical exchanger and the PC-2WR, the Pro-Heat solar stratified tank and the PSN backup tank, TiSUN is to use "heavy" ISOVS fleece insulation. The "light" version of the fleece insulation, ISOVL, will be used for the FS service water tanks and the BE-SSP solar hot water tanks from 650 litres upwards.

The new polyester fibre fleece insulation is classified in fire resistance class B1 according to DIN 4102 and has low flammability. The ISOVS heavy fleece insulation has an insulation value of 0.035 W/mK, while the light ISOVL fleece insulation has an insulation value of 0.040 W/mK. In an extensive TiSUN test series, the energy loss of the new TiSUN polyester fibre fleece insulation was at least 1 kWh less per 24 hours than other forms of insulation. "The melamine resin insulation used up to now is a top-quality product that was hard to surpass, but the newly developed fleece insulation is even better," states Head of Development Arnold Teufel.

As well as its dimensional stability, energy-saving properties and high functionality, the polyester fibre fleece insulation has other superb benefits. The fleece insulation contains no chemicals, is toxicologically harmless and free of CFCs and HCFCs. Teufel is delighted about the market launch: "The fleece features skin-friendly, allergy-friendly, breathable and therefore recyclable and environmentally friendly properties."

The ISOVL and ISOVS have another outstanding feature: they do not absorb water and are hygroscopically harmless and resistant to mould and pest infestation. The new fleece insulation also provides good sound insulation.

TiSUN will supply its customers with this new fleece insulation at no extra cost compared with the high-quality melamine resin insulation used up to now.
