Village Hotel Iapetos aglowes with Sun
The port entrances with the terraced arranged houses. The Greek city experienced a cultural and economic hipe over 100 years ago and impressed the neoclassicist architecture of the houses.
The two year old Iapetos Village Hotel perfectly fits in the surrounding. Together with redevelopments the hotel installed 15.3 m2 TiSUN module collectors on the tiles. The solar hot water cylinder BE-SSP with 1,000 liters capacity collects the sun heat of the whole day in the cellar. 40 guests are benefiting from the domestic hot water which is being heatened by the free of charge and inexhaustible warmth of the sun. The Duplex double-loop solar control unit measures pressure, pulse meter and meters the heat quantity. This efficient solar system covers 99 % of the daily domestic hot water need of the hotel. According to the calculations of the simulation software Polysun light the solar system pays for itself within only for years. The Village Hotel Iapetos reduces its energy costs to monthly 50 Euros with an additional electronic heating and besides that lightens the environment.
The name „Village Hotel“ is quite right. The guests may choose between 19 maisonettes with 60 m2 living space and six studio apartments with 40 m2 with balcony or terrace. The traditional houses are surrounded by the lovely structured garden with a neoclassicist pool house as the centre.
