The Neue Heimat Tyrol project at the Lohbach housing development in Innsbruck consists of six multi-storey houses with an effective area of 24,000 m². 300 units with an average living space of 80 m² each are available for around 700 residents. TiSUN provided 1,200 m² of solar collectors and a central tank for each building, which provides the decentralised hot water supply and heat using a heat distribution network. The housing complex, realised with the help of TiSUN solar systems, functioned as a design prototype for two more similar complexes.

The housing complex in St. Anton am Arlberg heats service water with a TiSUN solar system. The TiSUN large-area collectors are architecturally integrated into the south-facing facade and deliver not only free heat, but also provide visual interest.
ACKERMANNBOGEN HOUSING COMPLEX IN MUNICH / GERMANY
Seasonal storage tank made of prefabricated concrete parts

Water heating and backup heating

District heating
The housing development at Ackermannbogen consists of four apartment buildings and eight smaller townhouses. A living space of 27,000 m² is divided into 319 units where 50 percent of the heat is supplied by the solar roof. Over 3,000 m² of FI large-area collectors were installed, which replaced sheeting material across the entire roof. Even though the roof is angled 14° away from the south and has a low pitch of just 18.5°, the collectors perform efficiently and deliver free heat that can be drawn from the concrete tank even into the late winter
As of 2009, the ‘Y building’ in Tapolca has been generating hot water with TiSUN large-area collectors harnessing the sun´s energy on four terraces. The 350 residents renovated the 32-year-old building. They replaced the district heating and used the savings to finance a solar system. In 102 apartments, the residents take showers with solar-heated water.
HOUSING COMPLEX ‘VILLAGE HOUSE’ IN BUDAPEST / HUNGARY
The biggest apartment building of Hungary is in Budapest and is known as the ‘Village House’ because of the living area of 43,500 m2. The ‘Village House’ was now thermal refurbished. 1,500 m2 of large-area collectors from solar specialist TiSUN were installed. The 3,000 residents of the building are pleased with the environment-friendly, sustainable investment that has been made in a solar system. It was fitted on the flat roof by the TiSUN installation team using a mounting system with a 40 tilt.
