ABSORBER
The heart of a solar collector. The full-area, laser-welded absorber with high-selectivity PVD coating and sheeting made of materials with high thermal conductivity, such as aluminium or copper, converts the solar radiation into heat. The energy obtained is transferred to the water/anti-freeze mixture. Almost 100 percent of the solar radiation is used.

APPLICATION RANGES FOR SOLAR SYSTEMS
Solar heating systems can be used for hot water production, backup heating, pool heating, heating process and cleaning water and for solar cooling.
Backup tank
BACKUP TANK
This tank is intended for heating water solely for backup heating. The heating water in the tank is oxygen-free (dead water) because it is in an enclosed circulation system. This prevents corrosion.
Boiler
BOILER
A tank in which drinking water is heated and stored. Certain standards and regulations must be complied with in this context so that no bacteria are produced during hot water production.
Collector efficiency
COLLECTOR EFFICIENCY
Indicates the percentage of the solar energy that contacts the collector that is then converted into usable heat. Depends on the strength of the solar radiation, the ambient temperature and the temperature of the heat transport medium.

The costs for a solar system depend on its purpose and on the type and size of collectors, tank(s) and the rest of the components. TiSUN offers sets specially designed for households of 2 to 20 people at very attractive prices. In addition, subsidies are offered in every country in Europe.
Crane installation
CRANE INSTALLATION
The quickest and easiest way to install large-area collectors is with a crane. Each day, an area of 300 m² can be installed. Possible roadblocks or allowances may be subject to the approval of local authorities.
Expansion tank
EXPANSION TANK
Expansion tanks are used to equalize the pressure in closed hydraulic systems such as in solar systems. The volume of fluids increases when the temperature increases and decreases when the temperature decreases. This causes the pressure in an enclosed fluid medium to rise dramatically even at low increases in temperature, which can lead to the destruction of pipelines and pressure tanks in hydraulic systems without additional corrective measures. For this reason, in hydraulic systems that are heated or cooled, pressure maintenance of some kind must be installed so that the pressure allowed in the hydraulic system does not fall below or rise above the allowable level at minimum and maximum temperatures.
Facade collector
TiSUN offers the large-area collectors FIF, FAF and FF-AL and FF-HO. These collectors can be installed on the facade (FAF) or in the facade (FIF) in a vertical position. TiSUN distinguishes between high-yield, serially produced, Solar Keymark tested collectors and optical collectors (FF-AL and FF-HO), which can be produced according to customer requests and, depending on their design, may deliver a lower solar yield.
FACADE COLLECTOR
This collector is installed in or on the facade. This can often provide an opportunity for attractive architectural features in the facade design. TiSUN offers the large-area collectors FIF, FAF and FF-AL and FF-HO. These collectors can be installed on the facade (FAF) or in the facade (FIF) in a vertical position. Flat collector
FLAT COLLECTOR
The most common design for thermal solar collectors (99% market share in Austria). The absorber is covered with glass, insulated on the rear side and sealed tightly with a metal or wood covering to prevent as much of the heat from escaping as possible. The sturdy construction of all TiSUN flat collectors is adjusted for the particular climatic conditions in the Alps.
Freestanding installation

TiSUN FA large-area collectors can be installed on sloping terrain, meadows or garage roofs, for example.
Frost protection and heat transfer fluid
FROST PROTECTION AND HEAT TRANSFER FLUID
Anti-freeze fluid is used as a heat transport medium in solar collectors. It prevents the water in the collectors from freezing and so prevents the solar system from frost damage. At the same time the fluid protects the system from corrosion.
Hot water tank
HOT WATER TANK
Used to heat drinking water. Certain standards and regulations must be complied with in this context. At least once per night, the tank volume must be heated to 60°C to kill all germs.
In-roof collector
IN-ROOF COLLECTOR
Product designation for TiSUN solar collectors that are serially produced in standard sizes of 4 to 18 m² and are also available in custom sizes. In-roof collectors are installed in the roof and replace the roof covering. In this way they are cost-effective and improve the appearance of any house. TiSUN can deliver a variety of metal coverings for various roof coverings.

Collectors with wood frame construction are used for in-roof installation. In their standard design, they can be integrated into up to 15 different types of roofs. A metal covering is used for the transition to the roof covering.
Large-area collector
LARGE-AREA COLLECTOR
Product designation for TiSUN solar collectors that are serially produced in standard sizes of 3 to 18 m² and are also available in custom sizes. They have an advantage over standard collectors: they can cover a large area all at once and do not require connection pipes. No energy or heat is lost. For large areas they are more efficient and can be installed more quickly. Due to their size, a crane is needed for installation. TiSUN can arrange for an installation crane for you.
Module collector
MODULE COLLECTOR
The TiSUN module collector is particularly suited for single-family and two-family houses and is mainly used with solar sets. It is very flexible with a range of applications and on-roof, in-roof or freestanding installations. Its size (2.55 m²) enables it to be installed quickly even without a mobile crane. Its weight (46 kg) guarantees easy handling.

Pro-Clean® stratified tank
PRO-CLEAN® STRATIFIED TANK
Hot water tends to rise to the top while cold water sinks. The Pro-Clean® solar stratified tank with spherical exchanger uses this principle to deliver the water in the tank that has been heated by the sun at the right temperature (level). Pro-Clean® solar stratified charging enables the solar energy obtained to be used much sooner in the process and much more efficiently than with traditional storage systems. Hygienic hot water and fresh water heating is guaranteed by the special corrugated stainless steel pipe. The intelligent Pro-Clean® technology facilitates efficient solar heating support. It stores surplus solar heat for heating and hot water for days without much sun. TiSUN has international patents for the Pro-Clean® solar stratified tank with spherical exchanger.

Solar control unit

Regulates and monitors the solar system. Components include for example: pump, wiring, flow, heat quantity metering. The type of control unit used depends on the solar system.
Solar coverage factor (in percent)

The solar coverage factor expresses the percentage of a household's complete energy needs that can be met by a solar system. For solar systems used only for heating water the percentage is higher than for systems that also provide backup heating.
Solar glass
SOLAR GLASS
The glass that covers the collector. TiSUN uses a thickness of 4 mm, which meets all necessary European requirements for all dimensions. This glass stands up to hail and contains less iron in order to allow more solar radiation to slip through.

Product warranties vary widely from manufacturer to manufacturer. In comparison with other solar heating suppliers, TiSUN sells products with very good warranties. TiSUN delivers all of its solar collectors with a 10 year warranty. The tanks have 5 year warranties. However, our products themselves give you the best warranty - the first solar systems we installed 20 years ago are still in operation!
